Embedded in the deep wilderness of the Spanish Pyrenees, two hours north of Barcelona, “The Home” is like a separate cosmos with its own eco-system and yet directly linked to the reality of our world. The Home, is a 251 hectares estate’ offering a beautiful place for co-working, events, retreats and meetings. The place offers organic home-grown food, fresh water from the mountains, rivers, silence and a warm and comforting place to stay.

The house

The place and its team are a living example of how community building can successfully function as a model for a regenerative rural economy. The Home is a place, which demonstrates that community engagement and sustainable agriculture and forest management are essential building blocks for successfully addressing the climate and soil crisis.

    Stef van Dongen

    Stef van Dongen, is a host, nature lover, serial entrepreneur and challenger of the status quo. Over the past 25 years he has been focused on establishing regenerative ways of doing business and has challenged various real economies to set new sustainable and just industry standards around the world. His latest project is a 20,000 hectare landscape regeneration project in the Spanish Pyrenees, that he is developing with various local and global stakeholders. His aim is to develop a rural regenerative economic model in the pristine Muga Valley. The Valley is connected to a European wildlife-corridor from Portugal to the Swiss Alps. Stef is guided is in his actions by the values of authenticity, innovation, and collaboration. He believes that collaborative action is the only way forward in our search to live and work in harmony with nature.
