  • About the host

Maryanne Muller is a leader of resilience and passion, who has been actively contributing to the achievement of the SDGs in Chile and around the world for the past 40 years. After returning from fleeing the military dictatorship, she immediately began to actively work on building democracy in the country. The focus of her work was to make education accessible to the poorest and most vulnerable in society. Furthermore, she has been actively fighting for gender equality in Latin America and beyond. The experiences of her decades of work flowed into the development of the place “Fundacion Origen”, 30 minutes outside Santiago de Chile. This place provides the space for learning and experimentation inviting guests from all over the world as well as the surrounding region. In her work, Maryanne is guided by empathy, the commitment to empowering others, a strong sense of community and the continuous fight for justice.
